Wildflowers of Ainsworth: Field Hawkweed
Found in my own field, but you can find this stuff anywhere. A clump of yellow, dandelion-like flowers sit atop a single stem that is unadorned but for a light coating of hair …
… until you get near the ground: there you find a few plain, hairy basal leaves.
Hairy and proud!
No idea what it has to do with hawks.
