I found a slime! And I didn't even have to go looking for it; it came to my house, or more strictly, to the piece of an elm-tree trunk that I use as a chair outside my back door.
This started out pinkish, which really confused me at first, but very quickly it turned chocolate-colored. My mushroom book doesn't say whether it's poisonous.
Also known as Pipe-Cleaner Slime, because those tubes look like miniature pipe-cleaners.
