In March of 1909, Indiana passed a law "permitting the playing of baseball on Sunday."
I don't know when it had been made illegal. An article I found on-line says a state law passed in 1905 "made it a misdemeanor to play Sunday baseball 'where any [admission] fee is charged.'"
