Abandoned, or Postponed? (Random Pointless Photos)

The barn swallows had been busy with their nest, and it was starting to take on the shape of a cup.

Then all work stopped and the birds disappeared for almost three days. I thought they had abandoned it. But just before sunset today, I noticed the two of them hanging around on the gutter, looking as if they were thinking about resuming their work.

I don't know what goes on in their little brains.
