Wildflowers of Ainsworth: Toadflax
Most of the ox-eye daisies have withered away now, and the ground where the Ainsworth depot used to stand is covered with toadflax instead. This flower is also known as butter-and-eggs because of its coloring. According to Jack Sanders, it has many other names as well, including snapdragon, larkspur, devil's ribbon, impudent lawyer and dead man's bones. (The origin of those last two is a mystery.)
