Well, I guess it's better to hire a practical plumber than an impractical plumber. I really enjoyed reading this piece of the paper. I learned what calsoming was (from the ad above.) Also interesting is that the paper never gives any addresses for homes--just gives the name of the owner. I guess everyone knew where everyone else lived at that time.
I came across an article in October 1908 announcing that buildings in Hobart were finally getting numbers, but I guess that was just for the benefit of out-of-towners! Nobody around here needed an address.
