Hobart High School from the West
(Random Old Photo)
Another recent purchase. I don't recall having seen this particular view of the high school before.
Unfortunately, no legible date on the verso.
We do find a Mrs. Ruth Hauk in Richmond, Indiana, in the 1930 Census. She had been married seven years earlier. So if that's our "Stuff," we can date the postcard to 1923 or later.

More accurately, that's the Hobart School, which was 1-12 until the opening of Mundell Elementary in the 1920s, when it became 7-12. The tower over the entrance was later removed. At some point, it was renamed Roosevelt School, and it was still in use as part of the middle school up until they moved to the old high school in the 2010s. It's located downtown near the United Methodist Church. I have been home in the past several years, but I do believe it's still extant, directly across the street from the Historical Society.
