The photo is undated. There is a calendar on the wall, but I can't read it. Ida was born in 1886, and here she looks to be in her late teens/early 20s, so I'd guess this dates to the first decade of the 20th century.

I'm wondering if Ida Rossow was into the sport of fencing, I know it's probably a far fetched Idea and probably not. She may have just been proud of having that sword. I am also wondering if that sword is from the Civil War era.
