The Killigrew Boys

Since a reader asked me to post anything I come across about the Killigrew family, here's a nice picture I picked up last Saturday at the Hobart Historical Society. A handwritten note on this photo says it's John Killigrew with sons William, John Jr. and Leon. Leon was the youngest, so that must be him in the middle. I can't really tell which of the two bigger boys looks older (William was the eldest). The picture is undated, but since Leon was born circa 1895, if we can guess how old he is here … hmm, maybe about 12? — that would put the picture around 1907. Left out of the picture are John Sr.'s wife, Louise, and their daughter, Katherine.

John Sr. was a Hobart merchant. As I've mentioned before, John Jr. became a Hobart Township justice of the peace. William worked as a bank cashier and later (1930 Census) as an auditor at some unspecified office (and, blog-wise, before too long we'll see him getting more prominent in the civilian side of the war effort). Leon worked in the steel mills.
