The mention of Gilbert Bullock reminds me that this is supposed to be the Ainsworth blog, not the Crash-at-the-Black-Cat blog. This particular Gilbert was the son of Claude Bullock and his second wife, Mary Ann Chandler. The 1950 Census shows him living at Peter Bates' hotel, 314 Main Street.

The Gazette actually published bowling league scores weekly in this time frame, or at least in the late 1940s.

I wish I were an elderly man with a lot of time on his hands. But I wouldn't raise chickens and vegetables for Tom Tinney. I'd just sit and enjoy doing nothing.

I wonder if Tom Tinney's produce stand was that building on the southeast corner of 8th and Wisconsin that got knocked down, oh, so many years ago, but still within the 32 years that I've been around here.
