Wow--this stunned me. I had no idea that there were two boys killed that day. It's one thing to see names and dates on a gravestone and quite another to read the story behind the death. The gazette story in particular (I never knew there was a Hobart News) was very moving--"they started home on the run, full of youthful vigor and pulling a small sled". . .just two young boys playing with their Christmas present. I never noticed Walter's grave--the Gazette said they were buried in adjoining graves.
Thanks so much for posting those articles.
Bob Lee was my uncle--I believe he was born in 1911. He was a plumber too. My father was also a plumber but didn't come along until 1918. The Charles Lee I know didn't go east, at least not for long, for a baby was born every two years in Hobart.
Frederick was my dad's half brother. Charles was married to Fred's mother in the 1900 census and to my grandmother (who emigrated from Sweden) by the 1910 census. One of those mysteries that investigating census records creates instead of solving!

As I go along with my microfilm reading, I'll keep a lookout for any items involving any of the Lees and post whatever I find.
