The photo is too unfocused to allow us to read either what's stamped on his badge, or the year on the calendar.
The parlor is modestly genteel, but he looks as if he's not afraid to get his hands dirty.

Looks like may 1 is a monday, which happened in years '05-'11-'16'-'22, if that is any help.

Thanks! You have sharp eyes. :) The few glass plates that are dated, or for which I can estimate a date, seem to fall in the first decade of the 20th century, so it's probably 1905 or 1911.
